Here’s what I mean.

It all depends upon the person you’re buying the gift for, but you can get away with far more for far less when its for a person that you’re not too close to. This will exclude those such as a partner, boyfriend or girlfriend, close family member or very close friend.

So when we’re talking about finding a suitable gift for, say a work colleague, or friend, or maybe a more distant family member like a cousin etc you can shop around for a more inexpensive item that doesn’t have to look as though you picked it up at the local flea market or dollar shop. Some ideas that don’t have to cost very much but will still seem to be worthwhile would be would be small porcelain ornaments, silver jewelry such as brooches or tie pins, books, bath sets, movie DVDs, music CDs, novelty cups or drinking mugs or glasses etc.

It helps to know if the person is a sports fan and what sports team they follow, then you can get hold of some merchandise from the team itself or something related to the sport if the person plays it themselves.

There are always plenty of great ideas you can come up with when it comes to finding good quality gifts that don’t have to cost a lot of money. Keep your eyes open in gift stores and department stores and of course its always worth searching online for certain items where some sites offer big discounts.
